1/5/2024 Inaugural lecture
1/5/2024 – Only 7 years (!) after being promoted to Professor, Steve delivered his Inaugural lecture at the University of Birmingham. Summarizing 15 years of Goldup Lab research was challenging, but a great opportunity to showcase the group’s work (as well as showing some embarrassing photos).

26/4/2024 – We’re sorry to be saying goodbye to Dr Martin Tlusty today, but excited to see what he does next as a researcher at UCT Prague 😊! It’s been fun having you in the group, Martin. All the best for the future!

25/3/2024 – Abed Saady has won the Goldup Lab inaugural Wunderbar! award for having had 3 papers (2 J. Am. Chem. Soc., 1 Angew. Chem.) accepted in the same fortnight. That’s a tough act to follow!

18/3/2024 – Congratulations to Andrea, Peter and Abed – their article on type 2 geometric isomers is published online today in J. Am. Chem. Soc. This is genuinely the last stereogenic unit left to conquer in simple rotaxanes and catenanes. Click here for the online publication.

10/2/2024 – Steve gives an invited presentation at the 2024 International Symposium on Porous Organic Polymers, held at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Several months after dinner in the dunes, he’s still finding sand in his belongings!
